When the BC curriculum was redesigned between 2013-2014, I was a curriculum team writer for the draft Physical and Health Education K-12 curriculum. Then, from March 2015 to September 2015, I was seconded by the BC Ministry of Education to lead the revision of the draft PHE curriculum and produce an official version that we see and use today.

With these experiences, and my in-depth familiarity with the BC curriculum, I aim to provide clarity around the PHE curriculum (and other aspects of the curriculum itself) so that teachers and schools do not have to guess and/or interpret what the curriculum outlines. My perspectives and insights are mine and mine alone, and they do not reflect those of the BCTF, the school district I am teaching in, or the BC Ministry of Education.

Below, are topics that I will provide some information about and/or insights into what they mean, how they might be intended to be used, etc. This page will be updated, so be sure to check back regularly for new information.
